Production Notes
The Jamie Lynn Vineyard is our small "home" vineyard located on both sides of the entrance to the winery. Less than 3 acres, it is planted entirely to Jamie's favorite varietal - Barbera. The grapes for the 2017 Jamie Lynn Vineyard Barbera were harvested on September 2nd at 25.1 brix. All of the must was fermented for 7-9 days on the skin, pressed and the resulting wine finished fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After clarification, the wine was aged on French and American oak for approximately 6 months.
Winemaker Notes
The 2017 Jamie Lynn Vineyard Barbera possesses a beautiful ruby hue and is aromatically engaging with raspberry, black cherry, and clove notes. Medium-bodied with a hint of mocha flavor, the wine lingers on the palate with soft, mellow tannins.
Production
Our blend is predominantly Barbera with about 5% Petit Verdot added in for texture & color.
